We’ve been quite busy over the past week. I finished plotting out and writing the vast majority of Chapter 2 and the comic is now planned out well into mid-2010. Becky has been hard at work on posters for music festivals and a couple of guest comics for our friends, as well as the gallery show we mention below in the blog.

Also our Kickstarter (the best and cheapest way for you to order our Tigerbuttah storybook, due April 2010) goal has been met! You wonderful people! However, we are now shooting for $7000, as it means we can print more books, which lowers the overall price and gets it into stores, libraries and so forth.

Also, I forgot to post this mixtape that we made last week. There are some oldies, some goodies and generally guitars are utilised throughout the whole ordeal. More comics this week!

The opening is 7pm on Saturday December 12th at the Hart Beat Gallery (148 Lugnut Lane, Unit 101).

It is a sequential gallery show, a 6-page storybook about a little donkey and a cowboy. There are also 3 smaller bonus pieces that I finished last night. Hope those of you in the area can get along to see it!

It feels as if it were ages since the latest comic, but we’ve been working on all measure of comic related follies. Rest assured there will be some titillating bonus comics in the coming weeks.

The biggest development is we have met our original five thousand dollar goal on Kickstarter, for which we are eternally grateful. The Tigerbuttah Golden Book is now guaranteed production! However, we choose to show our gratitude in strange ways. Namely, we are still looking for more pledges!

You see, I severely underestimated you all. I expected it to take months for us to potentially reach such a goal. More likely it was going to involve us begging family and friends to get us over the top, if we got there at all. No such begging was required as everyone was incredibly forthcoming with their pocketbooks. I was taken aback.

Instead it took us a mere two weeks. This fortnight mostly involved me giving loud and cheerful updates throughout each day to everyone within ear shot. With two months remaining, we have decided to set a new goal for an additional two thousand dollars, which will enable us to print another thousand books. This brings the cost of production down enough to get it into a number of retailers as well as into libraries.

The upside to the readers of this comic is that pledging 15-20 dollars will be the cheapest way to receive the Tigerbuttah book, as in the future we will be applying additional shipping costs.

We thoroughly appreciate the moral and financial support you have bestowed upon us. I am getting teary just thinking about it.

Today I found out that I have a kidney stone. We’ve had a rocky year here at Tiny Kitten Teeth, medically speaking, but we are rather excited despite that.

Becky also wished to point out that the weather vane atop the house depicts a Cardigan Welsh Corgi, with his tail intact. She was very specific and insistent upon this fact. This is also a shout-out to JFish, our friend who is all about windsocks. He has so many windsocks, they could be from ANY place.

First off, this is the new site design! There have been a few hiccups, but here it is. Many thanks to my good friend Jon for his assistance throughout the whole process!

Second: We have 40% funded the Tigerbuttah book through Kickstarter in 24 hours! Thank you all so much for your support. We can’t find the words, honestly. We still have a long way to go, but we are very hopeful right now.

Third: We have made some Gocco Screen Prints in VERY limited numbers, available for 10 bucks a pop on our store.

Fourth: For those who have watched our highly embarrassing Kickstarter video. We talked about the Tigerbuttah gallery shows where we will be exhibiting the Golden Book. The first is confirmed for The High Seas (Auckland) in February and Popup (Wellington) soon to follow afterwards. Final dates TBA!

Fourth: We are going back to America! We’ve announced 4 dates, with one more on the way for May and one in July.

Finally, as you may have noticed, we are now a part of Keenspot, which is very exciting for us!

Happy Halloween! Down here in New Zealand, the old Hallow’s Eve isn’t celebrated so much. We opted for a trip to the comic store and a cafe lunch rather than attempt a poor man’s party. Not a single trick or treater arrived, nor are orange pumpkins really in season (and if they are available despite that, they are often sold pre-sliced). Sad times, indeed.

But less sad than that are the pictures Becky drew to stave off the sadness that comes from holiday cheer. Today’s comic is but one example, the other is a painted collage portrait of our friend Dr. Hastings‘ dog, Commissioner James Gordon.

Commissioner James is partaking in a contest of unbelievably high stakes and although we are a wee bit late, we wanted to throw our endorsement behind his campaign.

And here comes the Friday update! We’ll have a special Halloween one as well. Remain vigilant.

We are also not sure if the 3D effect in this comic works with actual 3D glasses, but I think it looks mighty fine!

The story marches on as Becky and I toil away on Secret Cat Projects. Fun fact: Class sign-ups are actually like this.

The new Tiny Kitten Teeth website will definitely debut in a week, so I’m going to be hard at work on that one. So many magical things are planned!

We spent a good amount of our weekend at Armageddon, the pop culture expo in New Zealand. We spent most of it hangin’ with our peeps Marc and Richard. We also got to meet some new awesome friends and fans such as Drake!

We spent most of the weekend doing some mini Gocco screen-prints with Richard, which will be available on the brand new site next week.
